Hi, I use Pixmantec Rawshooter Premium and have just downloaded Adobe Lightroom. Adobe have taken over Rawshooter. It looks good. Not enough hours in the day to play with it yet. At first sight, it seems to have more to it than Rawshooter (maybe more than I need?) Has anyone else tried it? If so, what do you think? I've always been bad at Mnemonics. What does HSL Colour Tuning stand for? What do I do with the Camera Calibration? Thanks Andrea

Hi Andrea, Like you, I was/still am, completing all of my RAW workflow through RSP, and I have been using the beta version of Lightroom. So far, I like it. I don't like all of it, that could be the applications, or it could be me, so I am reserving judgement until I have tried it for a bit longer. I am using for my two latest weddings to see if it can be done any quicker against two I have just done in RSP. It is, of course, entirely subjective, lighting, backgrounds and number of images were all different, but the ease of handling and finished prints will help me decide. For HSL................Hue, Saturation and Luminescence.......................there is something on the Nikonians site (I'm Canon) www.nikonians.org/html/resources/software/Adobe_digital_workflow/index-33.htmlI haven't worried about the camcal feature as yet, as I am content with my current settings.......and I haven't figured it out in full either................... Good luck, I will let you know how I get on......... Regards, Paul www.paulcookphotography.com

Hi Lori, I haven't been able to give it much time yet, but initially it seems more complicated than RSP.

Shoot just had a look at it and boy you are right, it seems terribly unfriendly unlike RSP. I cant figure out how the heck you save your edited RAW file and if it saves over the original or not. I thought that the original RAWs couldnt be modified by saving them. Will look again but so far I dont like what I see.

A review of Adobe Lightroom is in this weeks copy of the British Jounal of Photography, for those who can buy it. I have not yet read the review, you may also see the article at BJP online where you can sign up for a 2 week trial.

I've just downloaded an updated version of Lightroom beta. I hadn't got on too well with the previous version - kept getting error messages when I tried to export. Being over 25, I decided to look at the online video and am now beginning to like it. Now for the inevitable question? Do I want to save files in DNG format? Andy

I have just finished my busy season of horse shows etc., just have some orders to fill and mail off and then hopefully I can get back to getting files in order. I will look into the Beta update too.
Just to say I am still on the case, just a bit bogged down LOL
