One piece of advice for any shot of any subject, unless a client has specified otherwise, is that it should be in as neutral a context as possible so as to maximise the uses of each image, as clients see fit.
Having said that, versions of shots e.g. of buildings or monuments, etc. or of e.g. mountains, which include one or more persons, placed strategically and looking into the picture, may increase sales to many outlets.
Where possible, shoot as many versions as possibel. With and without people. Avoid people in clothes which will date the image, such as high fashion or T-shirts with TV charactors or pop stars on them.
Also, on top of the general advice to shoot portrait and landscape format, some of the former should have considerations for magazine cover use, such as space for Titles and other text, and placement of the centre of interest in the image,

Hi Phil,
We never know what clients will ask for next, so we try and cover everything just in case.
There is a more detailed list of some subjects at the top of the main IMAGES WANTED page
We are constantly updating the lists, so keep an eye on them.
