Has any member tried the FastStone Image Viewer? A free download is available at www.faststone.org. It offers many functions apart from allowing you to look at pictures in many formats including raw. Well worth a look. JohnA

Not my area of expertise but it looks good for 2.9MB of free download.
I not that there have been updates at about monthly intervals so it would be worth waiting until you want to use it so as to have the latest version.

I've been using it for a long time now. The best part of the application for me is that it allows you to compare up to 4 images at 100% at the same time. It's really useful for deciding which photo you want to keep. You can also flag the photos you like, then chose to view only the flagged photos. It's a really nice viewer--especially for the money. $0!

I don't do much with digital images but my understanding is that the ability to view more than one image at a time, other than as thumbnails, is not generally available with other sytems. If so, this could be a very big plus.
